This unique pair of nature inspired earrings are made of fine silver (.999). They were created by hand painting real mint leaves with 12 layers of silver, dried, kiln fired and finished. My studio smelled great while I was making these. A great gift for your favorite gardener or nature lover. The earring wires are made of sterling silver and the silver leaf measures about 1-1/4″ long.
LEAF PROCESS:
Intricate and realistic detailing of leaves can only be achieved through a process that is very much a labor of love. After finding a gorgeous leaf that has fallen off the tree, I bring it home and paint twelve layers of precious metal clay slip onto the leaf. I then fire it in the kiln to produce this gorgeous, nature-inspired fine silver (.999) leaf that can be cherished forever.
